Take Profit Trader Review 2026: Is TPT Worth It?
Short answer: if your priority is getting paid — fast, daily, with no payout caps — Take Profit Trader is one of the strongest futures prop firms in 2026. TPT pays from day one, processes withdrawals in about an hour, runs no scaling plan and no maximum withdrawal, and routes funded traders to a real live account on the PRO+ tier. It’s the firm we point people to when uncapped, fast payouts matter more than anything else.
This is a hands-on review — Kyle personally funded a TPT account and withdrew real money, and the payout proof is on this page. Below: exactly how the Test → PRO → PRO+ path works, the drawdown and buffer math, the activation fee (and the one quirk nobody warns you about), and who should and shouldn’t trade here. Every rule is verified against TakeProfitTrader’s official help center, not marketing copy.
Who Take Profit Trader Is Best For
Trade here if: you want daily withdrawals from day one, you value fast payouts (TPT processes in roughly an hour), you want a path to a genuine live account, and you like a simple one-evaluation structure with no Phase 2. Look elsewhere if: you’re a pure swing trader who needs to hold overnight (TPT is intraday — see swing-friendly firms), or you want instant funding with no evaluation at all (see instant funding firms).

How Take Profit Trader Works: Test → PRO → PRO+
TPT uses a three-stage model, and understanding the jump between stages is the whole game.
- Test (evaluation): a single evaluation phase (no Phase 2) with a 6% profit target, EOD trailing drawdown, a 50% consistency rule, and a 5-trading-day minimum. Pay a monthly subscription until you pass. No second phase.
- PRO (funded): after passing, you activate a PRO account. 80/20 split, intraday trailing drawdown, and daily withdrawals from day one once you clear your buffer.
- PRO+ (live): the upgrade tier — a 90/10 split, end-of-day drawdown, and no buffer. Since March 2026, promotion to PRO+ is automatic after you trade consistently (or post a $10K day), so the path to the better split no longer depends on a manual invite.
That auto-promotion is the detail most reviews still get wrong: you’re not stuck at 80/20 hoping for an invite — consistent trading moves you to 90/10 on its own.
PRO vs PRO+: The Difference That Actually Matters
The two funded tiers behave differently in the two places traders care about — drawdown and payouts.
| Feature | PRO | PRO+ |
|---|---|---|
| Profit split | 80 / 20 | 90 / 10 |
| Drawdown | Intraday trailing (counts unrealized gains) | End-of-day (realized only) |
| Buffer | Yes — clear starting balance + buffer to withdraw freely | None |
| Payouts | Daily from day one | Daily from day one, no buffer |
| Environment | Simulated | Live $0-margin account, direct to exchange |
PRO+ is the better seat on every axis — higher split, gentler EOD drawdown, no buffer, and real live execution. Auto-promotion is what gets you there.
Take Profit Trader Payouts: Daily, Fast & Uncapped
This is TPT’s headline strength and why it tops our daily payouts and fast payouts rankings:
- Withdraw from day one in PRO — zero minimum days of profit, no funded consistency rule, no payout windows.
- No scaling plan and no maximum withdrawal. You can pull profits above your buffer whenever it suits your strategy. The uncapped payout policy is the single biggest reason we rank TPT where we do.
- The buffer (PRO only): you withdraw freely once your balance clears your starting balance plus your buffer (the buffer equals your max trailing drawdown — e.g. about $52,000 on a $50K account). PRO+ removes the buffer entirely.
- Fees & timing: withdrawals over $250 are free; $250 or less carries a $50 fee, so batch small payouts. Pulling profit before 60 trading days returns 50% of your buffer; after 60 days, 80%.

Payout Proof: We Got Paid by TPT
We don’t review firms we haven’t been paid by. The Take Profit Trader payout proof on this page shows a real first withdrawal plus the 3rd and 4th daily payouts from funded accounts — actual dashboard requests, not screenshots. One payout proves a firm can pay; repeated payouts prove it keeps paying, and that’s the bar to be reviewed here.
The Take Profit Trader Activation Fee, Explained Honestly
Here’s the part most reviews gloss over. TPT technically charges a one-time $130 activation fee to move from Test to a funded PRO account. But with code DGT, that fee is waived for the life of the account — and the waiver survives resets, so it doesn’t matter how many times you reset or how long you take to pass. With DGT you also keep the maximum lifetime discount on the Test subscription, and once you pass, the monthly subscription stops for good (no ongoing fees on a PRO account).
The quirk nobody warns you about: when your fee is waived, TPT doesn’t make the activation free at checkout — instead it drops a $130 PRO activation credit into your “credit bank” after you pass the Test, and you manually select that credit as your payment method at activation. That credit doesn’t always appear instantly. It can take a few hours — sometimes into the next day — to land in your credit bank. If you just passed and the system is still showing the $130 fee, don’t panic and don’t pay it out of pocket. Wait for the credit to appear, then select it during activation. This trips up new traders constantly, and it costs people $130 they never needed to spend.
Rules & Drawdown
TPT keeps the rulebook short, which is part of the appeal.
- Profit target: 6% of account size (e.g. $3,000 on a $50K Test).
- Drawdown: EOD trailing in the Test phase, calculated from your peak balance and locking once it reaches your starting balance — after that it stops moving. PRO uses intraday trailing (includes unrealized gains); PRO+ uses the gentler EOD model. See our trailing drawdown explainer.
- Consistency: a 50% rule applies only during the Test — no single day can exceed 50% of total profit. There’s no consistency rule on funded accounts, which lands TPT on our no-consistency-rule list for funded trading.
- No daily loss limit: TPT removed the DLL firmwide in January 2025, so trailing drawdown is the only hard breach mechanic.
- Other: close positions by 5PM ET, trade at least 5 days during the Test, approved CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX products only, micros allowed at 10× the contract limit, no hedged counter-positions.
Platforms & Markets
TPT supports a broad platform stack — NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic, Quantower, Sierra Chart, and TradingView — across CME, CBOT, NYMEX, and COMEX futures. Micros trade at up to 10× the mini contract limit, which makes the smaller accounts flexible for scaling in and out.
How Take Profit Trader Compares
TPT’s niche is the uncapped, daily, fast-payout firm with a real live-account path. Against the field: Apex offers a 6-payout ladder and huge account stacking but caps individual payouts; firms like TradeDay and Topstep are solid but don’t match TPT’s no-cap, no-scaling withdrawal freedom. Where others may win: if you need overnight holds, TPT is intraday-only. Weigh it on our compare tool and the best futures prop firms hub.
Is Take Profit Trader Legit?
Yes. TakeProfitTrader LLC is a Florida-registered firm founded in 2021, with a public help center, a 4.4-star Trustpilot profile across thousands of reviews, founder-led continuity (CEO James Sixsmith), and — unusually — a publicly disclosed evaluation pass rate (16.86% of Tests passed in 2024). PRO+ accounts run on live, direct-to-exchange execution. Combined with our own funded payouts, the evidence points to a legitimate, well-run futures prop firm. As always, it’s a prop evaluation, not a regulated brokerage, so size your risk accordingly.

Take Profit Trader FAQ
Is Take Profit Trader legit?
Yes. TakeProfitTrader LLC is a Florida-registered futures prop firm founded in 2021, with a public help center, a 4.4-star Trustpilot profile across thousands of reviews, a publicly disclosed pass rate (16.86% in 2024), and live direct-to-exchange execution on PRO+ accounts. We've personally funded and withdrawn from TPT.
How fast does Take Profit Trader pay out?
TPT allows withdrawals from day one of a funded account and processes them quickly — typically around an hour. There are no payout windows, no scaling plan, and no maximum withdrawal amount on profits above your buffer.
Does Take Profit Trader have an activation fee?
There's a one-time $130 PRO activation fee, but code DGT waives it for the life of the account (the waiver even survives resets). Instead of charging you, TPT issues a $130 activation credit to your credit bank after you pass the Test, which you select as payment at activation.
Why is TPT still asking me to pay the activation fee after I used a discount code?
Because the $130 credit hasn't landed in your credit bank yet. It can take a few hours — sometimes into the next day — to appear after you pass. Don't pay the fee out of pocket; wait for the credit to show up, then select it as your payment method during activation.
What's the difference between PRO and PRO+?
PRO is an 80/20 split with intraday trailing drawdown and a withdrawal buffer, in a simulated environment. PRO+ is a 90/10 split with gentler end-of-day drawdown, no buffer, and live direct-to-exchange execution. Since March 2026, promotion to PRO+ is automatic after consistent trading.
What are the Take Profit Trader rules?
A 6% profit target, EOD trailing drawdown, a 50% consistency rule during the Test only, a 5-day minimum, and positions closed by 5PM ET. There's no daily loss limit (removed in 2025) and no consistency rule on funded accounts.
Can you hold trades overnight at Take Profit Trader?
No — TPT is an intraday firm; positions must be closed by 5PM ET. If you need to hold overnight or over the weekend, you'll want a swing-capable firm instead.
Is there a Take Profit Trader discount code?
Yes — code DGT gives the maximum available discount on any Test account plus the $130 PRO activation fee waived for life. It's the best all-around code, so you don't need to hunt for separate promo codes.
